Salkavite is a concentrated source of all critical electrolytes and B group Vitamins essential for the efficient conversion of energy from carbohydrates, proteins and fats. This reduces dehydration, muscle fatigue, cramping, poor performance and delayed recovery after exercise. It is designees to reduce tissue damage and maintain cell integrity during strenuous exercise by supplying potent anti-oxidants.

It is Ideal for use in horses that are undergoing intense work, travel or endurance work but can also be used as a basic daily supplement to maintain optimal fluid balance and nerve and muscle function.

Directions for use

Mix salkavite thoroughly with feed at the rates listed below depending on work levels. May be added to drinking water but ensure and alternative access to fresh clean drinking water at all times

Heavy work or Endurance: 30 – 60g (one – two scoops) daily, is dependent on humidity temperature and sweating rate

Travelling: 60 – 90g (two to three scoops) prior to travel and 30 g (one scoop) in water during the journey

Stallions during breeding season: 30g (one scoop) daily

Yearlings for sales preparation: 30g (one scoop) daily

Salkavite can be used under veterinary supervision as a pre-event saline drench mixed at 160g in 2L of room temperature water.

The provision of adequate dietary roughage in the form of hay will prevent dehydration due to the fibrous nature of the material acting as a water storage reservoir for water and electrolytes in the hind gut. Horses must receive roughage equal to 1 % of body weight daily.
