Product Description

Equimax all wormer for horses is a palatable oatmeal paste wormer containing Abamectin and Praziqunatel. It provides broad spectrum anti parasitic control for all susceptible equine worms, bots, lungworm, intestinal thread worms, tape worms and skin parasites.

Each 35ml syringe contains Abamectin 3.7mg/ml and Praziquantel 46.2mg/ml and is dose at a rate of 1ml per 20 kg of body weight. A single syringe will treat up to 700kg.

Equimax is a “mectin” based wormer and it is recommended to be used in rotation with a BZ based wormer such as Stratergy T. Equimax is used in spring and summer and the Stratergy T used in autumn and winter. The frequency of dosing of both of these wormers is dependent on the horse’s worm risk. Treatment is recommended up to every 6 weeks in high challenge environments such as studs and agistment properties and at least every 3 months in low stress environments where there are fewer horses and more ability to rotate paddocks.

Pregnant mares should be treated as normal during pregnancy and then dosed 2 weeks prior to foaling date. Equimax is safe to use in all horses including foals, pregnant and lactating mares and breeding stallions.

Ascarids are large intestinal parasite that mainly affects horses under the age of 2 years. Horses over the age of 2 years develop a natural immunity to the parasite and are rarely affected by large burdens. It has been found in Australia that Ascarids are developing a resistance to mectin based drugs so it is recommended that Horses under the age of 2 years be wormed with Equimax elevation and stratergy T then over the age of 2 switching to an Equimax/ Stratergy T rotation.

Equimax protects against the following parasites in horses

Large strongyles (Strongylus vulgaris, Strongylus edentatus, Strongylus equinus and Triodontophorus spp.) Small strongyles including benzimidazole resistant strains (Cyathostomum spp., Cylicocyclus spp., Cylicostephanus spp., Cylicodontophorus spp., Gyalocephalus spp.) Ascarids (Parascaris equorum) Pinworms (Oxyuris equi) Hairworms (Trichostrongylus axei) Large mouthed stomach worms (Habronema muscae) Lungworms (Dictyocaulus arnfi eldi) Neck and intestinal threadworms (Onchocerca spp.,Strongyloides westeri) All three species of tapeworms (Anoplocephala perfoliata, Anoplocephala magna, Paranoplocephala mammillana) All three species of bots (Gasterophilus spp.) Also controls: Skin lesions caused by Habronema and Draschia spp. Cutaneous larvae (summer sores) Onchocerca spp. microfi lariae
