Protexin is a multi-strain probiotic containing live beneficial bacteria. It is a blend of live viable microbes which benefit the animal by improving intestinal microbial balance, maintaining a balanced digestive system and optimising feed digestion. The microbes are safe, nontoxic and residue free.

Active constituents

Lactobacillus acidophilus, lactobacillus delbrueckii subspecies bulgaricus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, bifidobacterium bifidum, Enterococcus faecium, streptococcus salivarius subspecies thermothilus

Protexin may be used during periods of animal stress such as scouring and diarrhoea, temperature extremes, transportation, training, exercise, concurrent use of medications especially antibiotic use. It is compatible with feed ingredients, anthelmintic, vitamin and mineral supplements and some antibiotics. It can be used to aid in the treatment of diarrhoea and supress pathogens such as e.coli, salmonella and Aeromonazs spp. It can be used post antibiotic therapy to re-establish normal gut microflora. And can be used in physiologically immature animals to establish normal gastrointestinal flora.

Protexin should not be used in conjunction with Penicillins, Cephalosporins, Tetracyclines, Gentomycin but may be uses immediately after finishing these antibiotic courses.

Dose

Horses: 10 – 20g protexin paste per day

Foals and Ponies: 5-10 g protexin paste per day
